Dr. Alison Hunter, MTCM, L.Ac., O.M.D.
Clinical Researcher
Dr. Alison Hunter, L.Ac.,O.M.D, is a California Board licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist and Doctor of Oriental Medicine specializing in Women’s Health and Reproductive Medicine. She received her Masters of Science degree from Five Branches Institute of Traditional Chinese medicine and her Doctoral degree from South Baylo University in conjunction with the University of California San Francisco.
For many years, she has worked extensively with western medical doctors in the treatment of male and female infertility. Her work includes clinical research projects as well as collaborative and on site work with reproductive centers and hospitals in the greater bay area.
Dr. Hunter is a regular contributor to journals of reproductive medicine, and is an active participant in organizations dedicated to fertility and pregnancy support. She is a member of Fertile Hope, Resolve, ASRM, and B.A.B.I, and works with support groups and mind body programs as a fertility expert. Dr. Hunter has received advanced training/post grad work in Obstetrics, gynecology, endocrinology and post partum care, labor induction and preparation and autoimmune disorders. She maintains a strong commitment to the Integration of Western and Eastern medicine to provide patients with the best possible quality of care. In addition, she is a diplomate certified in Orthopedic and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Po-Lin Shyu, Professor, L.Ac.,O.M.D., PH.D.
Po-Lin Shyu graduated from San Francisco State University with a Pre-Physical Therapy degree in the late 1980. He received his Masters of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Chinese Cultural and Health Science in 1993. In the same year, he received his California State Licensure and NCCAOM Certification. Po-Lin interned at Shu Guan Hospital in Shanghai, China, studying Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology. While in China, he applied for study and received training in Tuina with Dr. Wei Shu-Yin. He owned his first herb shop in 1989 in San Francisco and opened an acupuncture clinic in Cupertino in 1995. Since 1987, he has been working with Angela C. Wu L.Ac. at her clinic in San Francisco and has maintained his own private practice as well. He is also well known for his expertise in treating injuries with TCM. Currently Dr. Shyu teaches Chinese Herbs and Obstetrics and Gynecology at Five Branches Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Po-Lin Shyu has recently completed his PH.D and his Doctorate in Women’s Health and Reproduction.
Judith Tognetti, MTCM, L.Ac
Clinical Researcher
Judith Tognetti, L.Ac., is a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist and Nationally Certified Acupuncturist. She received her Masters of Science Degree from the renowned Five Branches Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Cruz, California and studied both Western and Eastern medicine. Ms. Tognetti has studied with many famous acupuncturists over her career and has continued increasing her knowledge in field of reproductive medicine. Ms. Tognetti’s main specialties are Women’s Healthcare, which includes OB-Gyn, Infertility, Pregnancy and Menopause. She has, also, had extensive training in Sport’s Medicine and is currently finishing her Diplomate status in Orthopedic Acupuncture and her Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Ms. Tognetti is an active participant in the field of reproductive medicine, she has been included as an expert in panel discussions on fertility as well as providing on site care for patients in both fertility centers and hospitals. She maintains her commitment to the field through clinical research projects and has published many educational articles for both patients and the overall medical community.
Emily Rones
Emily Rones, is a certified Acupressurist with many years of experience practicing abdominal acupressure for fertility enhancement. She worked at Dr. Angela C. Wu’s clinic in San Francisco for 3 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from San Francisco State University and is currently furthering her studies in alternative medicine with a focus on Women’s Health, Infertilty, and Pediatrics.
Kate Cadwgan
Kathryn Cadwgan began studying Chinese Medicine and Abdominal Massage in 1998 under the guidance of Dr. Angela Wu of Wu’s healing center in San Francisco, California. She has supplemented her work with Dr. Wu by studying with respected teachers Master Mantak Chia and Giles Marin. Kathryn has completed more than 3000 hours of Chinese Medical Massage from both the Healing Tao Center and the Acupressure Institute. She holds a B.A. from American International College of Springfield, Massachusetts and is currently completing her Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, California. The focus of Kathryn’s practice is fertility, pregnancy and Women’s health and she blends techniques used in chinese massage, acupressure and ayurveda to achieve excellent results with her Reproductive Organ Massage patients.
