Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long does the treatment last?
The first treatment usually lasts between 1-2 hours depending on how much information and questions are asked regarding your case. Subsequent treatment usually last about 1 hour. If you are receiving Reproductive Organ Massage, please be advised that additional time is needed and this time is based on your specific condition.
2. What does Reproductive Organ Massage feel like?
Reproductive Organ Massage is very relaxing and enjoyable for most. Although some patients experience a little discomfort in the presence of uterine fibroids or endometrosis.
3.When during my cycle should I get acupuncture done?
Acupuncture treatments are usually done regularly throughout your cycle and can be up to 1-2 times a week.
4. How many treatments will I need to correct my condition?
The amount of treatments needed varies from person to person. However, most patient notice some improvement within the first 3 months.
5. If I am planning to undergo IVF, when should I start my treatments?
For optimal results, treatments should begin about 3 months prior to the actual retrieval and transfer so that we can adequately prepare the body. However, any amount of acupuncture is beneficial when going through IVF.
6. How does acupuncture assist in improving my chances of pregnancy?
Acupuncture, herbs, diet and Reproductive Organ Massage will greatly increase your chances of becoming pregnant. All of these methods will help to balance the body and its energies and assist with reproduction. Acupuncture will open all of the channels of the body associated with pregnancy and will assist with more blood flow to the pelvic region, relaxing the nervous system, re-balancing the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Ovarian Axis, balancing hormones, increase uterine lining, and improving ovary function.
7. If I have high FSH, can I still conceive?
A diagnosis of high FSH can be very disturbing for the patient who is trying to become pregnant. Acupuncture and herbs have been shown in multiple case studies to balance the hormones and the portion of the brain that is responsible for hormonal production and stimulation. 8. Do I have to follow a structured dietary plan?
For optimal results, all patients should eat organic foods and a healthful diet. We will also give you suggestions of foods that will help to rebalance your specific condition.
9. What types of infertility can acupuncture treat?
Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Premature Ovarian Failure (POF), Immune Issues, Luteal Phase Defect, Habitual Miscarriage, Elevated FSH, Menstrual Issues, Fibroids, Unexplained infertility, Thyroid Issues, Ovulation and Cervical Issues, and Male Factor Issues.
10. Should my husband also get treatments?
If he has low sperm count, poor morphology, poor motility and/or sperm DNA fragmentation then he would be a good candidate for acupuncture and herbs. Please bring in your husbands lab work for our staff to examine. |
